Weekly Colloquium: Science-Fact / Science-Fiction
by Michelle Christensen & Florian Conradi
25.06.2015
In this weeks colloquium we take a deeper look in to the muddy middle-ground of science and fiction, and in which ways they become dependent on each other in technological developments. We will draw on Julian Bleecker’s arguments of a ‘Science-Fact / Science-Fiction Continuum’ from his essay ‘Design Fiction’ (2009), adding some further examples from current facts and fictions, and reflecting on the potentially precarious role of this continuum in the context of creating ‘believable fictions’.
